Paul – Operations Manager – has progressed over the past twelve years, from being a member of the Sales Team to being our Operations Manager. He now manages a team of over 200 people in our Huddersfield office. We sat down with him to find out about his career, what keeps him going and what he’s looking forward to in the future…
You’ve had a busy few years since joining LV= General Insurance! Tell us a bit about it…
I have been with LV= General Insurance since 2008, so over 12 years - but it’s felt like 2 minutes. I moved into claims management for a couple of years then moved into my current role managing the Customer Service function in Huddersfield. It has been an incredible journey.
What attracted you to LV=?
The LV= brand has always attracted me, I felt it was a reputable company and I’ve always wanted to work for a large, powerful organisation. I came to LV= to do 2 years and then move on to larger contact centers, but in the first 18 months I realised that LV= gave me what I was looking for, so I stayed!
What are the challenges and opportunities here?
Every day there is a new challenge to overcome and that’s what keeps the job exciting. The challenges create new opportunities for personal growth, and it keeps me developing within my role.
What’s been the best thing about working for LV=?
The people! There’s a genuine family feel within the organisation, it’s felt throughout the culture and reflected in the company values. Everyone wants you to succeed and there’s always someone you can turn to for help.
What’s your plan for the future?
Keep growing, keep developing and keep looking for new opportunities. I manage 200 people in Customer Service. The question is how can my teams and I deliver what’s needed for our customers? We do that already, so naturally the focus is to now make sure that the product we make is future fit.
