By 1868 the company had moved its head office to 23 Islington, Liverpool.
After a build lasting 12 years the new impressive head office was opening in Bloomsbury Square, London.
In 1996 Liverpool Victoria took over the Frizzell Group – a broker of motor and household insurance policies – and moved its head office to Bournemouth.
The LV= brand was launched. Employed 1,700 people across the UK.

In June 2017 we launched Green Heart Support; our way of providing help and support to our customers and members who are going through some of life’s toughest challenges, giving them confidence when they need it most. We also became the LV= General Insurance Group (LVGIG) and announced a strategic partnership with Allianz Holdings PLC.

In December 2019 we completed the sale of the LV= General Insurance business to Allianz Holdings PLC. Allianz are now our sole shareholder and we have separated from the Friendly Society, opening the door to huge new opportunities. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings as we challenge, disrupt and transform the future of the insurance market and beyond.
